The news that has had theatre land talking this week includes


Casting announced for the UK Tour of The Commitments


Casting has been announced for the upcoming UK Tour of The Commitments, which kicks off in Bromley in September

Nigel Pivaro will star as Da, with Ian McIntosh as Deco, James Killeen as Jimmy, Stuart Reid as Joey, Ciara Mackey as Imelda, Micahael Mahony as Outspan, Ryan Kelly as Billy, Conor Listen as Dean, Guy Freeman as Derek, Stephen O’Riain as James, Ronnie Yorke as Mickah, Eve Kitchingman as Natalie and Sarah Gardiner as Bernie.

The cast is completed by Maryann Lynch, Alice Croft, James Deegan, Callum Martin, Joshua Barton, Ed Thorpe and Colm Gleeson.

Further information announced for the Broadway run of &Juliet

It has been announced that &Juliet will make it’s broadway debut on 28 October at the Stephen Sondheim theatre.

Lorna Courtney will play the title role with Paulo Szot as Lance, Betsy Wolfe as Anne Hathaway and Stark Sands as Shakespeare. Justin David Sullivan will play May with UK cast member Melanie La Barrie as Nurse, Ben Jackson Walker as Romeo and Phillippe Arroyo as Francois.

The ensemble includes Brandon Antonio, Nico DeJesus, Nicholas Edwards, Virgil Gadson, Katy Geraghty, Bobby “Pocket” Horner, Joomin Hwang, Michael Iván Carrier, Alaina Vi Maderal, Daniel J. Maldonado, Joe Moeller, Brittany Nicholas, Veronica Otim, Jasmine Rafael, Matt Raffy, Tiernan Tunnicliffe, and Rachel Webb.

Full cast announced for Chess concert


Full casting has been announced for the concert version of Chess, which plays at the theatre royal Drury lane for 3 performances only.

Joining the already announced Samantha Barks, Hadley Fraser, Joel Harper Jackson, Frances Mayli McCann, Ako Mitchell will be Craig Els alongside ensemble cast members Joshua Robinson, joining Joseph Craig, Darius J James, Aoife Kenny, Jessica Lee, Nick Len, Natasha May-Thomas, Alice Readie, Stuart Rouse, Phoebe Samuel-Gray, Grant Thresh and Libby Watts.

Full casting has been announced for the concert version of Chess, which plays at the theatre royal Drury lane for 3 performances only.

New casting announced for Jersey Boys in the West End

New casting has been announced for the West End production of Jersey Boys, with the UK Tour’s alternate Frankie Valli, Luke Suri, joining the show as Valli in his West End Debut.

Suri joins continuing cast members Adam Bailey as Bob Gaudio, Karl James Wilson as Nick Massi and Benjamin Yates as Tommy De Vito alongside ensemble cast members Elliott Allinson, Jack Campbell, Huon Mackley, Bonnie Page and Andy Smith.

Other new cast members include Joey Cornish as Joe Pesci, Kevin Fullinick as Barry Belson, Matthew Goodgame as Gyp De Carlo, Danny Knott as swing, Gracie Lai as Lorraine, Carolyn Maitland as Mary Delgado, Rosie Needham as Francine, Tom Oliver as Norm Waxman/Hank Majewski and Joseph Peters as Bob Crewe.
