Original cast to return to The Play That Goes Wrong
It has been announced that the original cast members of The Play that Goes Wrong will return to the production of two weeks only on tour
They will appear in Manchester between 30 May and 4 June and in Newcastle for 6 to 11 June. The cast includes Henry Shields as Chris, Henry Lewis as Robert, Dave Hearn as Max, Charlie Russell as Sandra, Jonathan Sayer as Dennis, Rob Falconer as Trevor, Greg Tannahill as Jonathan and Nancy Zamit as Annie.
Sayer said today: “We’re so excited to be going back into The Play That Goes Wrong. It’s such a special show for us all and we really can’t wait to perform again and make people laugh in two amazing cities!”
New casting announced for Hamilton
New casting has been confirmed for Hamilton, with the new cast taking over from 21 June.
Reuben Joseph will playAlexander Hamilton with Simon-Anthony Rhoden as Aaron Burr, Allyson Ava-Brown as Angelica Schuyler, Shan Ako as Eliza Hamilton, Roshani Abbey as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds, Trevor Dion Nicholas as George Washington, Waylon Jacobs as Marquis De Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Emile Ruddock as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison, Jake Halsey-Jones as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton and Joel Montague as King George III. At certain performances the role of Alexander Hamilton will be played by Alex Sawyer.
The cast is complected by Jade Albertsen, Curtis Angus, Maya Britto, Matthew Caputo, Filippo Coffano, Ashley Daniels, Kelly Downing, Matthew Elliot-Campbell, Jordan Frazier, Manaia Glassey-Ohlson, Olivia Kate Holding, Barney Hudson, DeAngelo Jones, Phoebe Liberty Jones, Nicolais-Andre Kerry, Travis Kerry, Ella Kora, Natasha Leaver, Aaron Lee Lambert, Louis Mackrodt, Kerri Norville, Samuel Sarpong-Broni, Lindsey Tierney and Brandon Williams.
Three New concerts announced
It has been announced that kinky boots, Chess and Treason are to be presented in concert at the theatre royal drury lane
Samantha Barks and Hadley Fraser (with further casting to be announced) will star in Chess on 1 August with Kinky Boots in concert taking place a week later staring Cedric Neal, Matt Willis and Courtney Bowman
Treason in concert will take place on August 22, starring Carrie Hope Fletcher, Bradley Jaden , Simon-Anthony Rhoden, Les Dennis, Emilie Louise Israel , Rebecca Lachance (Anne Vaux), Daniel Boys , Cedric Neal, Waylon Jacobs and Adam Pearce
Bat out of Hell to return to London
It has been announced that the UK Tour of Bat out of Hell will return to London, running at the Peacock Theatre from 17 February to 1 April 2023.
Casting for this and a planned Las Vegas residency for the show is yet to be announced
Ariana DeBose to host Tony Awards
It has been announced that Oscar winner Ariana DeBose will host this year’s Tony Awards, which are due to take place on 12 June
She was Tony nominated herself for her performances in Summer: The Donna Summer musical, but is now perhaps best known for her appearance as Anita in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, which she won an Oscar, A BAFTA, a SAG Award and a Critic’s Choice award for.
The nominations for this years awards will be announced on 9 May.
