The Color Purple to tour the UK
It has been announced that The Color Purple is to embark on it’s first UK Tour later this year. Originally staged in 2019 at Leicester Curve, the production will visit Birmingham Hippodrome from 13 September, before touring to Theatre Royal Plymouth, Royal & Derngate Northampton, The Lowry Salford, Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, Mayflower Theatre Southampton and Norwich Theatre Royal.
Casting is yet to be announced.
Mary Poppins extends West End Run
Cameron Mackintosh’s critically acclaimed production of Mary Poppins has this week announced an extension to its booking period.
The show, which stars Zizi Strallen as the magical nanny and Charlie Stemp as chimney sweep Bert is now booking until July 10 2022 at the Prince Edward Theatre with tickets on sale now

The line up and numbers that feature in the big night of musicals that is showing on BBC One tomorrow night have been announced.
The event, which took place on Monday in Manchester, was hosted by Jason Mansford. Hit musical Dear Evan Hansen has announced an extension to its booking period this week. The show which stars Olivier award winning Sam Tutty in the title role is now booking up to 22 October 2022 at the Noel Coward Theatre
The Play That Goes Wrong to embark on new UK Tour
After a highly successful tour last year, Mischief Theatre’s hit comedy The Play that Goes Wrong is set to hit the round again.
On it’s fifth uk tour, the production will start in Bath on 20 April before visiting Mold, Southend, Leicester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Plymouth, Bristol, Sheffield, Hull, Milton Keynes and Dartford with further dates and casting to be announced.
