Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical to be revived

It has been announced that a new revival of hit musical Charlie and the chocolate factory will be heading to Leeds this Christmas.

The show will run at the Leeds Playhouse from November 18 to January 28 2023, directed by James Brining

Line up announced for all star musicals

The six stars taking part in the next instalment of ITV’s all star musicals has been announced this week, with a broadcast date yet to be revealed

ITV’s Alex Beresford, actress Jacqueline Jossa, wildlife presenter Michaela Strachan, Coronation Street’s Lisa George, actor Colin Salmon and rugby player Danny Care will be taking part, performing numbers from Frozen, Les Miserables, 42nd Street and Hamilton.

The show will also feature a special performance from The Phantom of the Opera.

The Mousetrap to tour the UK to celebrate 70th anniversary

It has been announced that iconic murder mystery The Mousetrap will be heading out on tour later this year to mark the shows 70th anniversary by visiting 70 regional theatres in a tour that will last through to 2024

The tour opens in Nottingham on 26 September 2022 before visiting Dublin, Cork, Brighton, Birmingham, Liverpool, Oxford, Bath, Manchester, Norwich, Malvern, Newcastle, Coventry, Chesterfield, Southampton, York, Cardiff, Plymouth, Lichfield, Stoke-on-Trent, Woking, Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cheltenham, Milton Keynes, Sheffield, Inverness, Aberdeen, Blackpool, Hereford, Chelmsford, Dundee, Derby, Bristol, Leeds, Cambridge, Torquay, Buxton, Swansea, Northampton, Truro, Peterborough, King’s Lynn, Guildford, New Brighton, Bromley, and Hastings, continuing throughout 2023 with further venues into 2024 to be announced.

West Side Story to stream on Disney Plus

It has been confirmed that the new movie remake of West Side Story will be making it’s way to Disney plus soon meaning that theatre fans can watch from the comfort of their own homes

The award nominated movie will launch on Disney Plus from March 2.

Casting announced for Singin in the Rain UK Tour

Casting has been announced for the upcoming UK Tour of Singin in the Rain with guest appearances throughout.

The tour will be led by Sam Lips as Don Lockwood, Charlotte Gooch as Kathy Selden, Ross McLaren as Cosmo Brown and Jenny Gayner as Lina Lamont.

Previous stars of the show will guest appear throughout the tour, with Adam Cooper playing Don Lockwood in Woking, Manchester, Glasgow and Plymouth. Faye Tozer will star as Lina Lamont in Canterbury, Woking, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh and Newcastle and Kevin Clifton will play Cosmo Brown in Bristol, Cardiff, Southampton, Liverpool and Glasgow

The cast includes Sandra Dickinson as Dora Bailey, with Imogen Brooke as Zelda Zanders and Michael Matus as Roscoe Dexter. The ensemble comprises of Briana Craig, Alastair Crosswell, Lavinia Fitzpatrick, Alex Given, Ryan Gover, Ashleigh Graham, Thomas Inge, Robin Kent, Joshua Lovell, George Lyons, Amonik Melaco, Ashleigh Morris, Peter Nash, Dale Rapley, Molly Rees-Howe, Harriet Samuel-Gray, Heather Scott-Martin, Megan Spears, Ben Whitnall and Ellie May Wilson.
