Cabaret to play charity performance


It has been announced that there will be a special charity performance of Cabaret on 14 July, with 100 percent of the ticket sales going to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Producers have explained “Cabaret’s story sadly feels as timely and emotionally resonant as it ever did, written two decades after the end of World War Two. We empathise every day with the strength and struggles of the people of Ukraine at this time, and everyone at the Kit Kat Club is honoured to raise funds for the Disasters Emergency Committees Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal – through our gala performance, and the collections occurring nightly during the run.”

Collections for the charity will be held at every performance of the show

Keala Settle to make her pantomime debut

Fresh from making her west end debut as the nurse in & Juliet, Keala Settle is set to make her pantomime debut.

The star of The Greatest Showman will appear as The Fairy in Jack and the Beanstalk in Northampton’s royal and Derngate theatre.

Full casting announced for South Pacific

Full casting has been announced for South Pacific ahead of it’s UK Tour and run at Sadlers Wells.

Gina Beck will play Nellie Forbush with Julian Ovenden as Emile de Becque, Rob Houchen as Joseph Cable, Joanna Ampil as Bloody Mary, Sera Maehara as Liat and Lee Ross as Luther Billis. David Birchill will play George Brackett with Stephen John Davis as William Harrison, Antoine Murray-Staughan as Stewpot, Charlie Waddell as professor and Olly Christopher as Sergeant Johnson.

The company is completed by Iroy Abesamis, Feline Andersson, Charlotte Coggin, Annabel Edwards, Leslie Garcia Bowman, Sergio Giacomelli, Ellie Jane Grant, Josh Kiernan, Matthew Maddison, Rachel Jayne Picar, Kate Playdon, George Renshaw, Pierce Rogan, Charlotte Scott, Trezel Sergeant, Nikhil Singh Rai, James Wilkinson-Jones and Eleanor Wright.

Derren Brown to return to the West End

Derren Brown will bring his new show, Showman, to the West End, it has been announced.

The show will run at the Apollo Theatre from December 9 2022 to March 19 2023

Brown explained “The heart of the show is about remembering what’s important. Particularly how the very things that we find most isolating in life – our fears and difficulties – actually connect us, in that they’re the very things we share. Framed, of course, with some extraordinary demonstrations of my particular voodoo.”

The trailer for the movie adaptation of Matilda the musical has been released.

Alisha Weir plays Matilda with Emma Thompson as Miss Trunchball, Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey, Stephen Graham as Mr Wormwood, Andrea Riseborough as Mrs Wormwood and Sindhu Vee as Mrs Phelps.

Charlie Hodson-Prior plays Bruce, with Meesha Garbett as Hortensia, Rei Yamauchi Fulker as Lavender, Winter Jarrett Glasspool as Amanda, Andrei Shen as Eric and Ashton Robertson as Nigel
